So last week I did a beauty shoot with Pictorial-- just trying to continue to get better, learn and grow while school is out. I learned a ton and I am really impressed with the way that David and Elka Engle are running their business. I highly recommend them for any commercial work you need done. They are really professional, organized and talented- not to mention a super team. Elka is incredible at getting the models ready and looking their best while David is getting lighting ready and setting up his shot. I wish I had a person like Elka to style everything and pose the model perfectly. She is all about details. While I messed around for two hours and hoped to get a great shot, these two came together and directed a beautiful picture and were done with this AWESOME shot in 5 min. It would be nice to have someone watching your back who shares a vision and helps you get an image that is perfectly posed. David and Elka thanks again for letting me come -- it made me realize that I have a lot I need to learn and it gave me something to work toward.
So this photograph was taken by David and edited by Elka and as a little challenge I wanted to see how close I could come to editing the same picture. Needless to say Elka and I have a very different way of editing but I learned a lot by seeing where someone started and where they ended. This is a buisness where most people are not willing to share their secrets so thanks again David and Elka for giving me a glimpse.

BTW Elka's hair edit looks much better then mine -- so much more natural. Not sure how she did hers but I am jealous!
